G3 - Global Gloving Gauntlet

Initially, I was tasked with creating a new logo for the You Got Moves’ 2022 Global Gloving Gauntlet, a logo that would serve as both a promotional tool and the cornerstone of the G3 2022 brand. Following this, I crafted another pivotal asset: a gauntlet adorned with lights on the fingertips, cradling a globe. This symbol perfectly encapsulated the essence of the Global Gloving Gauntlet, seamlessly merging all three elements into a cohesive design. Building upon this logo, we developed a captivating pattern, with the gauntlet becoming the focal point on the back of sponsorship shirts, which were sold to raise funds for G3. These shirts were offered in various color combinations: green and purple, black and white for regular sponsors, and blue and gold for investors. Subsequently, we utilized the neon-colored G3 logo pattern for staff shirts, while judge’s shirts were designed in blue, red, and black.

After the event, a partner from You Got Moves approached me to create additional assets for G3, extracting smaller elements from our 2022 G3 logo and arranging them in a random polka dot pattern for another set of sponsorship shirts.

Continuing with the project, I developed vector graphics and integrated them into designs for the winner’s title belts, meticulously crafted in black for metal carving. These belts distinguished between two categories of winners: gloving, focusing on technical skill, and movement, highlighting dancers' artistry. The belt backgrounds were carefully designed to accentuate the centerpiece without overwhelming the visual composition.

In the fall of 2022, I was recruited once again for the latest G3 event: G3 Battlegrounds. This time, You Got Moves challenged me to maintain the initial design while incorporating a steampunk theme and adjusting the color palette to reflect the new-wave vibe. Utilizing the same method of connecting the G to the 3 in the main logo, I created assets using gears for use on other merchandise. Furthermore, I revamped the title belt designs and introduced a design for a third division where groups of three compete to showcase their choreography and gloving skills.

Post-event, You Got Moves requested YouTube thumbnails for each round, for which I devised a template using existing assets and created over 70 unique thumbnails to be released weekly following the event matches. Additionally, they commissioned me to design unique "gloving" assets for an exclusive line of gloving merchandise.
